Specifying AGC Pyrobel® Fire-Resistant Safety Glass and SCHOTT PYRAN® Platinum Fire-Protective Glass Ceramic eliminates the color distortion and haze historically found in fire-rated glazing. Pyrobel®®‘s multi-laminate composition is engineered for 45- to 120-minute fire-resistive assemblies, delivering certified impact safety and acoustic attenuation. These technologies provide high-clarity options that meet code requirements for hose-stream and impact testing while matching adjacent non-rated architectural glass.

For specialized door and window openings requiring fire-protective or smoke ratings, PYRAN® Platinum’s micro-float manufacturing process yields a flat, distortion-free glass-ceramic surface with a slight neutral gray appearance (no amber tint).
