The Wharton Academic Research Building (WARB) features a vibrant interior design by MGA Partners centered around a three-story glass wall mural. McGrory Glass fabricated 152 unique panels of acid-etched laminated glass featuring custom graphics created through algorithmic modeling. The glass package includes integrated wayfinding elements and curved etched laminated glass railings for the lobby’s circular staircase. The mural system is mounted with the patented CaptiveHook® system for a minimal reveal, ensuring a secure and precise installation across the vertical atrium space. This project highlights the skilled fabrication and extensive production capabilities required to integrate high-performance architectural glass into a modern university environment. All solutions were fabricated in-house at our 250,000-square-foot manufacturing facilities.

CaptiveHook® is a very elegant system from a design standpoint. It’s persuasive in the notion that if there’s a problem with one of the 150-plus panels, it can be removed with a lift and pull, and then replaced.
