Smithsonian’s Arts and Industries Building

McGrory Glass white DotView™ One-Way-Vision laminated glass for the Smithsonian Arts & Industries Building windows.

Overview

The Smithsonian Arts & Industries Building utilizes high-performance architectural glass to balance occupant comfort and historical context. McGrory Glass fabricated the building’s windows using white DotView™ One-Way-Vision laminated glass, which provides a clear view out and permits natural light penetration while obscuring the interior from exterior view. This specialized material supports the museum’s requirements for visual privacy and daylighting in a high-traffic public environment. This project highlights the skilled fabrication and extensive production capabilities required to integrate high-performance architectural glass into a modern museum environment. All solutions were fabricated in-house at our 250,000-square-foot manufacturing facilities.
