SCHOTT® Pyran® Fire-Protective Glass Ceramic

Discover SCHOTT PYRAN® Platinum fire-rated glass-ceramic glazing. Industry-leading, UL-certified fire protection and impact safety with no amber tint for commercial projects.

Advanced Fire-Rated Glass-Ceramic for Modern Architecture

As a trusted supplier of architectural fire-rated glass in North America, we are proud to offer the SCHOTT PYRAN® Platinum product line—the world’s first and only floated glass-ceramic designed specifically for demanding architectural applications. This advanced, transparent, and wireless glazing is manufactured using an innovative micro-float process, delivering a smooth, distortion-free surface and the industry’s largest sheet sizes up to 51″ x 99″.

Providing 90 to 180 minutes of fire and thermal shock protection, it successfully passes rigorous positive pressure (UL 10C) and hose-stream tests to effectively prevent the spread of fire, smoke, and hot gases. Unlike traditional materials, it delivers an exceptionally clear, neutral gray tone completely free of amber tinting that matches standard architectural float glass.

The PYRAN® line is available in stock or cut-to-size formats, including standard monolithic, filmed (Platinum F), and laminated (Platinum L) configurations that satisfy both ANSI Z97.1 and CPSC 16 CFR 1201 impact safety standards. Whether your project involves educational facilities, healthcare centers, or commercial hubs, this versatile and eco-friendly solution can be constructed into insulated glazing units (IGUs) or customized with opacity, allowing architects and contractors to achieve open, modern aesthetics without compromising on safety or sustainability for their next project.
